Here is a newborn baby of the Koochi tribe. Koochis are nomadic and they dress very colorfully. Notice the colorful band across the baby -- Koochi mothers tightly wrap their newborns in an effort to assure that their bones grow straight. The babies almost resemble little footballs! But I noticed that they are the most peaceful and I suspect that the tight bundling provides a secure feeling for them. I'm not sure if you can see the eye make-up, but most Koochi mothers put eye make-up on their baby girls right after birth, and add make-up as they get older.
