Ten of us went to the Rabia Balkhi Womens Hospital in Kabul to deliver donations in the maternity ward. Here I'm giving a jumper and bib to a new mother. The donations came from the generous employees of Powell Tate/WeberShandwick in Washington, DC. If you look closely you will see the tiny head of the mother's new son. After delivery, babies are tightly wrapped and laid next to their mother. This woman agreed to have her photo taken, but insisted on displaying some modesty by covering part of her face.
